One of my big joys in life is walking on the beach. Lately I have noticed an overwhelming amount of plastic washing up on the beautiful beaches of Fort Lauderdale and it makes me extremely sad. A study predicts that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish by weight. If this doesn’t scare us all, nothing will. We can all do our part. Daddy Dan and I make a point to pick up plastic every time we walk on the beach and he picks up my doo doo with biodegradable bags. Everyone can do his part by making just three simple changes:
- Stop using straws, the average person will use 38,000 straws.
- Take your own shopping bag to the grocery store.
- Bring your own cup to the coffee shop.
These three simple steps will make a huge difference in the future of our planet.
Here’s to Mother Earth!
